End FGM European Network launches its 2025 Impact Report
During its 2026 General Assembly, the End FGM European Network officially launched its 2025 Impact Report, highlighting a year of advocacy, partnership building, survivor leadership, and collective action to end female genital mutilation (FGM).
The report highlights how our members, partners, ambassadors, and supporters have worked together to advance prevention, protection and support efforts across Europe and beyond. It also reflects on the Network's organisational growth and continued commitment to building a future free from FGM.
Understanding the reality of FGM in 2025
FGM remains a global human rights violation affecting millions of women and girls worldwide. In Europe and beyond, sustained action, prevention efforts, and investment remain essential to protect those at risk and support survivors.
Throughout 2025, the End FGM European Network continued to advocate for stronger policies and survivor centred approaches while amplifying the voices of affected communities and frontline organisations.
Driving change through advocacy
Advocacy remained at the heart of our work throughout the year. The Network engaged with European and international institutions, contributed to policy discussions, and worked alongside partners to ensure that ending FGM remains a priority on political agendas. By amplifying survivor voices and strengthening collaboration across sectors, we continued to push for meaningful and lasting change.
Advancing action through our projects
Our projects continued to strengthen prevention, protection, and support efforts across different contexts.
Through innovative initiatives, community led approaches, partnerships, and knowledge sharing, we worked to improve responses to FGM and support professionals, organisations, and communities working to end the practice.
The report provides an overview of the key achievements and milestones reached across our project portfolio during the year.
Building global solidarity
Ending FGM requires collective action that extends beyond borders. In 2025, the Network continued to foster international partnerships and strengthen global cooperation through solidarity initiatives and the Ambassadors Programme. These efforts contributed to advancing gender equality, supporting women's rights defenders, and promoting shared learning between organisations and communities worldwide.
Strengthening communications and organisational growth
The report also reflects on the Network's communications and organisational development throughout the year. From strengthening our brand and visibility to expanding outreach and engagement, we continued to raise awareness about FGM and the work of our members. The report also highlights progress towards our sustainability goals and the steps taken to build a stronger and more resilient organisation for the future.
