Discover our new Ambassadors 2025-2027!

The End FGM European Network proudly launched the new Ambassadors Programme 2025-2027, introducing during the annual General Assembly of the Network, the new and committed group of Youth and Senior Ambassadors.

These powerful advocates represent affected communities across Europe and are committed to ending FGM through activism, education, and policy influence.

What Is the Ambassadors Programme?

Launched in 2016, the Ambassadors Programme strengthens the voices of individuals dedicated to ending FGM in Europe and beyond, empowering them through training, intergenerational dialogue, and opportunities for advocacy at both grassroots and European levels.


Meet the Youth Ambassadors (2025–2027)

Young people are drivers of social change to end FGM in Europe, and the new cohort is already doing that!





Fátima Amina Rafae
l (Portugal): A teacher and nursing student focused on interfaith dialogue and develop awareness and prevention projects on FGM.



Esraa Newir (Italy): A Biomedical Engineering student and community builder, passionate about creating safe spaces for Egyptian women and raise awareness on FGM.






Alimat Babatunde
(Ireland): Advocating for a more equal world, she sits on the National Steering Committee for AkiDwA, supporting efforts to end FGM in Ireland.




Rediat Lencho Dekebo
(Italy): She is youth advocate with a background in Global Humanities, she has led awareness campaigns on FGM and women’s health, gaining experience in advocacy and community mobilisation.




Passie Kengne Kuetche
(Belgium): With a background in international law and children’s rights, she actively works to end FGM and promote human rights. She combines advocacy with strategic action for lasting social change.





Saarrah Ray
(UK): A doctoral candidate at Oxford whose research links FGM, cosmetic surgery, and feminist legal theory.

  



Riham Ibrahim
(Italy): A youth advocate that collaborated with Amref Health Africa Italy linking local action and institutional advocacy to raise awareness, support survivors, and mobilise communities against gender-based violence. She also worked as a Community Trainer for ActionAid Italy and is now a Community Expert.

 





Samsam Hassan
(Belgium): A clinical psychology student and youth ambassador with GAMS Belgium, focusing on holistic anti-violence work.





Bassmala Mohammed Morkaz
(UK): She works with FORWARD in ending FGM in the UK.Coming from a community impacted by FGM, she wants to carry the responsibility to advocate for an end to this practice and help build a safer, more empowered future for all girls.



Meet the Senior Ambassadors (2025–2027)

The Senior ones bring expertise and leadership in ending FGM.



Deborah Odeworitse Blankson (Oniah)
(Ireland): A lawyer and trauma studies expert  creating inclusive, trauma-informed community spaces.






Hellen Namuli 
(Spain): A sexual health mediator working closely with FGM survivors in daily care settings.






Franz Evariste Kapnang
 
(Germany): He is committed to raising awareness, particularly among men in affected communities, and organises information events and campaigns nationwide.





Stella Okungbowa
(Italy): A cultural mediator and community trainer with ActionAid with a strong legacy of grassroots activism.




Wedad Almizori (Netherlands): A key figure in her community and at FSAN, where she advocates for Iraqi-Kurdish women and organising community trainings to provide awareness on FGM.





Awolola Rafiu Olayinka
(Germany): He collaborates with Terre des Femmes, working with different community in Germany as mediator and on how men can be useful to end FGM.





Rodrigue Bukungu Nkwayaya
(Ireland): he collaborates with Akidwa as a community trainer and believes that Ambassadors should educate communities about what FGM is, how to prevent it, and how those who are already affected can be helped and supported.






Istahil Abdulahi
(Netherlands): She is an activist against FGM and she collaborates with FSAN as a key person and trainer. Istahil is super happy to become an Ambassador for the European Network!






Fatou Mandiang Diatta
(Germany): she is a social worker by profession, an artist and an activist for the protection of children, and she collaborates with Terre des Femmes.





Ahlam Aziz
(Netherlands): She is socially active in the field of combating FGM with Sudanese organisations and the Dutch Medical Council in The Hague.




Together, they bring energy, knowledge and commitment to end FGM and build bridges between communities and experiences.
