Amal Rahman [she/her]
Amal is joining the Policy and Advocacy team to support the implementation of the Network’s advocacy strategy. Alongside the Policy and Advocacy Officer, she contributes to engaging with diverse stakeholders to advance the implementation of European and international commitments to end FGM.
She brings experience from international and humanitarian contexts, having previously worked with organisations such as the International Planned Parenthood Federation and Médecins Sans Frontières. In these roles, she supported advocacy, research, and communication efforts related to sexual and reproductive health and rights, health systems, and community-based interventions. She has also contributed to policy-oriented work through research and reporting, including an anthropological assessment of MSF’s Hepatitis C interventions in an informal settlement in Pakistan.
Amal holds a master’s degree in Conflict and Development Studies from Ghent University and a master’s degree in social and Cultural Anthropology from KU Leuven, both obtained with magna cum laude distinction. Her academic work focuses on health, governance, and inequality, with particular attention to lived experiences and community perspectives.
She speaks English and Urdu fluently and is currently learning French.
