Now Available in Italian: “FGM/C : A Call for a Global Response ‑ Global Report 2025”
We are pleased to announce that our joint report “The Time is Now: End Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting – An Urgent Need for Global Response 2025” is now available in Italian. First released in February 2025 together with Equality Now and the US End FGM/C Network, this resource, released every five years, is a key tool for advancing global action against FGM.
Previously available only in French and English, this comprehensive update presents the latest global data on female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) and outlines urgent, actionable recommendations for governments, civil society, and human rights bodies. By making the report accessible in Italian, we aim to broaden understanding, strengthen advocacy, and enhance international cooperation across language communities.
The translation was made possible thanks to Amref Health Africa Italy, who presented the Italian version during the event “Voci in Rete per un Futuro Senza MGF” (Voices in Network for a Future Without FGM), held on 8 November 2025 in Rome. The event, promoted by the Roman Network for the Prevention and Combating of Female Genital Mutilation, together with universities and third-sector organisations, provided a meaningful space for dialogue, collaboration, and awareness-raising on ending FGM.
The End FGM European Network is working to make this crucial resource available in even more languages, with the goal of expanding access to five languages in the coming months.
