NGO Human Rights Forum 2025: our ambassador Samsam Hassan representing End FGM EU
On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, our Youth Ambassador Samsam Hassan took part in the EU NGO Human Rights Forum 2025, organised by the Human Rights and Democracy Network, the European External Action Service and the European Commission.

This 26th edition of the Forum was officially opened by Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission, who highlighted the urgency of protecting human rights in the face of growing inequalities, shrinking civic space and rising discrimination worldwide.
Over two days in Brussels, human rights defenders from across Europe and partner countries came together to exchange experiences, strengthen networks and build meaningful and lasting synergies. The Forum created space for open and constructive discussions on how the European Union and its partners can work more effectively together to promote equality and combat discrimination in all its forms, both within and beyond Europe.
From highlighting the central role of intersectionality in human rights work to exploring equality and non discrimination across diverse political, social and cultural contexts, the discussions provided a rich platform for learning and collaboration. Participants shared practices, reflected on policy gaps and discussed ways to ensure that human rights responses are inclusive, participatory and grounded in lived realities.
Above all, the EU NGO Human Rights Forum 2025 was an important moment to reaffirm our shared commitment to human rights for all. It also underlined the essential role of youth voices in shaping human rights agendas, ensuring that future policies and actions remain responsive, inclusive and rooted in equality and justice.
