GAMS Belgium awareness campaign to prevent FGM when returning to the homeland

A few weeks before the holidays, GAMS Belgium is launching its awareness campaign to prevent female genital mutilation when returning to the homeland.

This campaign is a part of GAMS Belgium associative project: the FGM collective, in partnership with AWSA-be, Oasis Belgium and the family planning center of Liège. Their common objective is to reach a maximum number of people affected by female genital mutilation.

In this type of situation, a stay in your country of origin is full of mixed feelings: between the happiness of finding your family, of presenting your children born∙ in Belgium but also the fear of not being able to protect your child from an excision. GAMS Belgium wants to show through a series of photos that with a good preparation, one can leave with a light heart and make this trip a good memory. Stay tuned on the GAMS Belgium networks: Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn, during the month of June. And above all, share their publications with those concerned who may need guidance and support.
