1) The platform

The End FGM European Network participates in an EU-funded project aimed at creating and developing a web-based knowledge platform on female genital mutilation (FGM), which will gather easily accessible information and support to professionals, deliver victim support more effectively, help prevent FGM and protect women and girls living with or at risk of FGM, and serve as a resource and education centre. The aim of the project is to increase the capacity of professionals to effectively provide support and protection to victims using a culturally sensitive approach while incorporating a women’s human rights perspective. It will ensure targeted awareness raising by improving knowledge of the practice, preventing stigmatization in the media and protecting women and girls living with or at risk of FGM.

2) Purpose and Nature of services

The subject of this call is the translation from English into Swedish of 13 training modules developed by the partners of the project to be included in the online knowledge platform to be launched in 2017.
The total numbers of words to be translated is 124,672.

3) Duration of the contract

The assignment shall start on the day of the contract signature of both parties – and no later than 10 August - and shall be completed by the 30 September 2016.

4) Submission of Offers

The END FGM is seeking proposals from organisations or individuals with at least 5 years of proven experience in translating from English to Swedish.
Previous experience in translating documents on female genital mutilation or other related topic like violence against women will be considered an asset.
The selection will be done based on expertise (75%) and price (25%).
