“FGM is a harmful practice that violates the very basic fundamental rights of women in general and young girls in particular. It also has enormous health consequences to those affected. Beside these health consequences, the girls have emotional and psychological scars that live with the individuals for the duration of their lives. It is time to empower and promote our community to stop FGM and to show the commitment in action. We all have to work hand to hand to try at our utmost to eradicate this injurious practice” – Zahra Naleie
