France - GAMS

 

GAMS stands for Group against Sexual Mutilation and harmful practices against Women and Children (translated from French). Established in 1982, the organisation works on the issue of female genital mutilation in France as well as at the European level.

GAMS France is involved in:

  • Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities about FGM among African populations living in France
  • Training medical and social workers
  • Awareness-raising campaigns in collaboration with governments and other NGOs

GAMS is a member of Euronet-FGM and Inter-African Committee.
